Winners of BL4S 2018 are at CERN

The two winning teams BEAMCATS from the Philippines and CRYPTIC ONTICS from India are currently at CERN and are conducting their proposed experiments at the T9 beamline of CERN's Proton Synchrotron.

Having gone through a whole day of safety training at the beginning of their stay at CERN, including radiation protection, fire, chemical, electrical and cryogenic safety, the students finally started collecting data for their two experiments. See their propsals here under "Winners 2018". Working together in mixed shift crews each day, the teams are also learning about each other's experiments, in this way fostering cooperation and promoting personal growth.

They will stay at CERN until 1 October, but they will keep working on their data analysis together with our BL4S team once they are back home.
